Introducing Apple Watch Series 12 [Video]

Apple has shared two videos introducing Apple Watch Series 12 and highlighting its expanded health, fitness, and intelligence features. The watch takes background heart-rate readings 60 times more frequently and heart-rate variability readings 24 times more frequently than the previous system.

Those additional measurements support a new readiness experience and more detailed information in Vitals. Apple describes Series 12 as offering the most accurate heart-rate sensing in a wearable, based on a company study conducted in July and August 2026 using commercially available bestselling wearables available as of June 2026.


Apple Watch Series 12 also supports sleep scores, cycle tracking, detailed workout metrics, and up to 24 hours of battery life. Its aluminum cases are protected by Ceramic Shield 2 and paired with a wide-angle Always-On Retina display.

Series 12 supports Siri AI and Audio Intelligence as well. Live Rewind and Siri Recap are scheduled to enter beta in late 2026, initially in English, and require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone 16 or later, excluding iPhone 16e. Apple says those features will not initially be available in the European Union.
