Apple Accidentally Leaks 'MacBook Neo' Ahead of Launch

Apple has accidentally revealed the name of its highly anticipated entry-level laptop. A regulatory link on the company's European compliance website briefly listed the "MacBook Neo" alongside an unreleased model number before being quickly removed.

The slip-up occurred on a page hosting EU Declarations of Conformity. As spotted by MacRumors, a link explicitly naming the MacBook Neo appeared next to the identifier A3404. While the associated PDF document describes the device only as a "Laptop Computer" running macOS, the link text itself exposed the new branding. Apple took down the reference shortly after it was published.

This discovery aligns with weeks of supply chain leaks pointing to a budget-friendly aluminum MacBook designed to sit below the MacBook Air. Code found in recent software updates indicates the machine will run on an iPhone-class A18 Pro processor rather than a standard M-series chip. It is expected to feature a display slightly under 13 inches and arrive in a variety of vibrant colors.

The Neo name surfaces just as Apple kicks off a staggered hardware rollout this week. The company is hosting hands-on media sessions at a Special Apple Experience event in New York, London, and Shanghai on Wednesday. With no live keynote scheduled, the MacBook Neo is expected to be announced via press release alongside official pricing details.
