Xiaomi Unveils AirTag Competitor That Works With Apple Find My

Xiaomi is rolling out a new item tracker designed to rival Apple's AirTag by integrating directly with the Find My network. The Xiaomi Tag gives iPhone and iPad users another option for tracking keys, bags, and luggage without requiring a separate companion app.



Because it connects directly to Apple's Find My platform, the tag functions similarly to Apple's own hardware. If you misplace an item nearby, you can use the Find My app to trigger an audible chime over Bluetooth. It also supports Lost Mode, allowing you to attach contact information to a missing item. Users can share the tracker's location with friends or family, and iPhone will automatically alert them if an unknown tag is detected moving with them.


The hardware takes a slightly different approach than AirTag. The white, 10-gram device is framed by a silver metal ring that includes a built-in loop, letting it attach directly to a keyring or strap without the need for a separate accessory.

Power comes from a standard CR2032 coin battery rated for about a year of use. The tag carries an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. The release arrives shortly after Apple introduced the second-generation AirTag, giving consumers a lower-cost alternative. Xiaomi is pricing the tracker in Europe at €14.9 for a single unit or €49.9 for a four-pack. AirTag 2 is priced at $29 and $99 (4-pack).
