Apple begins its run as the exclusive U.S. home for Formula 1 this weekend. The 2026 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix, bringing every practice, qualifying run, Sprint session, and race directly to Apple TV.
The inaugural broadcast airs Saturday, March 7, at 8 p.m. PT. Apple will deliver every Grand Prix in 4K with Dolby Vision and 5.1 surround sound. Subscribers will have access to English and Spanish commentary alongside the traditional Sky Sports broadcast.
Apple is offering up to 30 additional live feeds across all sessions. Viewers can pull up a Driver Tracker for a bird's-eye perspective, monitor real-time telemetry, or watch a mixed onboard feed that automatically jumps between cars as the action unfolds. Podium feeds dynamically follow the drivers running in P1, P2, and P3 during race and Sprint sessions. A dedicated Multiview interface lets fans watch up to four live feeds at once on Apple TV 4K, iPad, and Vision Pro. Users can select a preconfigured layout for a specific team or completely customize their screen with individual driver cameras.
F1 TV Premium remains available exclusively in the U.S. through Apple TV and is included at no additional cost for subscribers. This unlocks access to Formula 2, Formula 3, F1 ACADEMY, and Porsche Supercup events. The eighth season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive is also available directly within the Apple TV app.
Apple is integrating the sport across its broader software ecosystem. The Apple Sports app for iPhone will feature real-time leaderboards and Live Activities on the Lock Screen, while Apple News will introduce a Live Look In feature later this season that lets readers tap straight from a headline into the live broadcast. Apple Maps is adding detailed circuit layouts with custom 3D landmarks for pit buildings and grandstands. Apple Music will also stream free live audio broadcasts of the races, giving fans a simple way to listen to commentary on the go.
To maximize reach, Apple has established several unique distribution partnerships. Select live F1 altcasts will stream for free on Tubi, and Yahoo Sports will carry live practice and qualifying sessions. For fans watching outside the home, the live broadcast is available in commercial venues through DIRECTV and EverPass. The company is also continuing its push into large-format viewing by broadcasting five iconic races live in IMAX theaters nationwide.
