Apple has updated the Apple Sports app to version 4.2, adding support for seven more soccer leagues and a new formation view across most matches.
The update arrives following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup as many domestic leagues prepare to begin new seasons. The newly supported competitions include the Belgian Pro League, Danish Superliga, Dutch Eredivisie, Japanese J1 League, Polish Ekstraklasa, Scottish Premiership, and Swiss Super League, according to the App Store release notes. Apple expanded the app to more than 90 additional countries ahead of the tournament, and this update broadens its soccer coverage even further.
Users can now view formations across most soccer leagues, making it easier to visualize each team's starting lineup before a match. The feature joins the app's existing live scores, box scores, Live Activities, and personalized league and team tracking.
Apple Sports is available free on the App Store for iPhone models running iOS 18 or later. Version 4.2 is rolling out now.
