Siri AI Compatibility: Supported Devices, Languages, and Availability

Siri AI can search your personal information, respond to what is on your screen, and carry a conversation between your Apple devices. To use the beta, you need a supported device, language, and region.

As of September 30, 2026, Siri AI is available in English on supported devices running Apple's version 27 operating systems. Some features, including the new expressive voices, need newer hardware than the basic Siri AI experience. Siri AI is not available to users under 13.

Which iPhones Support Siri AI?

Supported iPhones include iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max; the iPhone 16 family, including 16e; the iPhone 17 family, including 17e; iPhone Air; and iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Apple has also announced Siri AI for iPhone Duo, which launches on October 23.

Supported iPhones need iOS 27 to use Siri AI. The standard iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are not supported.

Which iPads, Macs, and Vision Pro Models Support It?

On iPad, Siri AI supports iPad mini with A17 Pro and iPads with M1 or later, running iPadOS 27. That includes M-series iPad Air and iPad Pro models, but not the standard iPad with A16.

On Mac, Siri AI supports models with M1 or later and MacBook Neo with A18 Pro, running macOS 27 Golden Gate. Intel Macs are not supported.

All Apple Vision Pro models support the base Siri AI experience with visionOS 27. Expressive voices require the M5 model.

What About Apple Watch?

Siri AI supports Apple Watch Series 9 and later, Ultra 2 and later, and SE 3 with watchOS 27. The watch must be paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone that has Siri AI enabled.

Live Rewind and Siri Recap are separate Audio Intelligence features for Series 12 and Ultra 4, planned for beta in late 2026. They require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone 16 or later, excluding 16e, and will initially be available in English outside the EU.

Expressive Voices Need Newer Hardware

The AFM Core Advanced on-device model powers the more expressive voices and their pace and expressiveness controls. Its device list is narrower than Siri AI's basic list.

On iPhone, expressive voices are supported on iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, and the upcoming iPhone Duo. The standard iPhone 17 and 17e, the iPhone 16 family, and iPhone 15 Pro models support Siri AI without these voice controls.

On iPad, expressive voices require M4 or later with at least 12GB of unified memory. On Mac, the requirement is M3 or later with at least 12GB. Devices must meet both the chip and memory requirements.

Apple Vision Pro requires M5 for expressive voices. The original M2 model remains supported for base Siri AI.

Which Languages and Regions Are Available?

The Siri AI beta currently supports English. Apple has announced French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish for October. Your device language and Siri language must be set to the same supported language.

The European Union has a platform-specific restriction: Siri AI is not currently available there on iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. It is available on Mac with macOS 27 Golden Gate and Vision Pro with visionOS 27 when the account and language requirements are met.

Siri AI does not currently work with an Apple Account set to mainland China. Apple Intelligence is also unavailable on supported devices purchased in mainland China.

Other Apple Intelligence features support a broader range of languages than the Siri AI beta.

How to Turn It On

On iPhone, update to iOS 27, then open Settings and tap Siri. Select Try Siri AI (Beta); if Siri is off, tap Turn On Siri first. Follow the prompts to review privacy settings and choose a voice.

You may encounter a waitlist during setup. Apple says Siri AI downloads automatically once your wait is over; the iPhone used in our video did not have to wait.

If Try Siri AI is missing, check that your device is supported, its software is up to date, and your device language, Siri language, and Apple Account region meet the requirements above.

Are There Usage Limits?

Yes. Some Apple Intelligence features that use server-side models, including Siri AI, have daily usage limits. Apple says these can vary with the feature, complexity of a request, demand, and other factors.

Apple has also confirmed that expanded Siri AI access will be available for a fee in the future.
