A mysterious 3x3cm Apple branded touch screen has surfaced on Tw.apple.pro.

The site isn't sure what the panel is for but suggest possibly an iPod Touch nano, an iPod Touch shuffle or an iWatch.

Let us know in the comments if you have an thoughts for what Apple could be doing with this screen.

Can a thumbprint reader evolve from a touch screen? Say for example to unlock a phone, macbook. Would be nice to see this on the back glass of future iphones where you can have a thumb unlock the phone for use instead of a typing in keypad.
