The iPhone 5 has reportedly entered the trial production stage in preparation for a Q3 release, according to the China Times.
The report says the iPhone 5 will have a metal chassis to improve antenna sensitivity as well as a scratch resistant 4-inch touch screen.
MacRumors suggests that perhaps the video of next generation iPhone parts that surfaced in January was of the iPhone 5 and not the Verizon iPhone as some suggested.
Looking back at old rumors, an iPhone 5 parts video that surfaced back in January may have actually been an early look at the iPhone 5 casing (photo above). That video actually first revealed the new antenna dividers found on the Verizon iPhone, but also included a SIM card slot that does not appear in the Verizon iPhone.
Apple had the video forcefully removed from YouTube which suggests it authentic to some extent.

This may very well be from a test model of the iPhone 5.
The Verizon iPhone metal chassis looks identical to the one shown
in this video except one thing...the one shown has a cut out for sim card tray.
The Verizon iPhone has no sim card tray because of the CDMA technology
in that model. Just saying.
