plz help me with this i jail-broke my ( iphone 4 - factory unlocked ) successfully some cydia tweaks doesn't working ... that's ok i already knew it before but i realized a drain in my battery life so i tried to get back yo the stock ios 5.0.1 by making a clean restor with iTunes but a had a complete failure with such a stupid errors such as: 3194 ... 21....1601....1603 till now i tried to edit my host file ... tinyumbrella .... iREB.... redsnow........any many suggestions i found it on the internet with no result still stuck on 5.0.1 any ideas !!!!!!!!

Hey, Anytime i try to run this is crashes at the end of stage one, I did get it completely done once before so i know it's the right one. But i had to restore and lost the jailbreak,.. But anytime i try it now it crashes at the end of stage one.. then i've to run a back up to get my phone working again as it's a blank screen and will not turn off./ or on.

I am going to upgrade iPhone 4 (GSM) currently running iOS 4.3.3 (jailbroke) with modem firmware 4.10.01. I don't need to unlock. Can I simply Restore in iTunes or do I need to Shift+Restore using the firmware found on this site?

Hi all, i had an iphone 4 baseband: 2.10.04, Itune v 10.5.2. I'd like to upgrade 5.0.1 and follow this tutorial by; downloaded redsn0w_win_0.9.10b3 and iPhone3_3_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw. Then i had problem with the first step when i try to "restore iPhone3_3_5.0.1_9A405_Restore.ipsw" with Itune, it's said "this firmware is not compatible". Could anyone help me to solve this out? Hi, Check if your i phone is CDMA or GSM. You have to download the correct version of the the fimware according to this.

see on back of your i device model A1332 so that should be a gsm if not it'll be CDMA

To answer some common questions: Make sure you Update/Restore with the correct iOS version! Make sure you use the same version of resn0w (redsn0w_win_0.9.10b1). Make sure you run redsn0w as admin (win vista/7) by right click-> run as admin. back you shit up, don't be an idiot. Remember, this is made simple and it's not rocket science. read the tutorial and do exactly what it says. Also Google is your friend

When I am trying to restore my iPhone to the ipsw firmware provided here, i received an error 3194. I tried many times but the same error appears. I am using the latest version of iTunes 10.5.2 . If u think it's right,just try again then maybe your timing for entering dfu mode just incorrect

Same for me. It does go to DFU, but the PC needs to re-identify the USB device. wait for windows to finish and then do a back, next. Redsn0w will see the DFU mode and do its thing

I have upgraded my iphone4 from 4.3.5(Gevey SIM for unlock) BaseBand 04.10.01 to 5.0.1 with preserved baseband facility provided by Redsnow 0.9.9b9d. Jailbreak done with 0.9.10b3. For those who have unlocked their phones using Gevey SIM : upgrade to 5.0.1 even with preserved BaseBand will lock your phone to original carrier. When you jailbreak your device Redsnow will ask you to deactivate lock. Uncheck Deactivate Tab to remove lock and start using with your carrier.

your iphone is factory unlock,it's okay todo JB,u canstill use any SIMcard u want.It's not causing error,lost signal of wifi/gps,after JB u can install many tweak on cydia,which will make your iphone feel more personally.........

Ip4 works fine, idk abt 3GS. Follow the list of compatible ios5 cydia tweaks and you should be fine. Stay away from graviboard, your tube, YouTubetomp3 for the moment. I posted a link where you can find tested tweaks that will/won't work.

here's a link to check if the cydia apps/tweak that will work. my JB crashed multiple times due to some old cydia tweaks that may not be compatible. If crash there's no way to save it except restore and JB again. i cant get red snow to do anything after reboot i have tried several versions of red snow they all do the same. i tried to tether it and use corona but i cant find the old tetherd version i need help!! it was simple when i broke my 4 before the 5.0.1 update

i4, backd up & restored to 5.01. JB with Redsnow. Alls good but I have 4 blank/ghost apps that pop up every once in awhile for field test, iOS diag, set up & another. Then there's an app for BBsettings that pops up? Wtf. ReJB with beta3 & still have same issue. My only issue, everything else is money. Someone help!

I think it's one of the cydia tweaks causing it. I cut many tweaks now ok. Graviboard no. Transparent slider no. Hide clock no. Qtweeter no. When in boot loop nothing can save it, even tethered boot and recovery fails

6 restores and 36 hours of testing, narrowed it down to a few problems, either transparent slider, clock hide, your tube, qtweeter.

it's not yourtube I have that fine. yourtube 2 NOT 1. no need for hide clock if you use the newest springtomize. This isn't cydia's problem saying you hope cydia fixes it isn't right. It's the tweak developer's issue. That's like blaming a crappy app on the appstore. Some of these tweaks are just outdated and better new ones have come around since.

it doesn't matter u use win xp/7 they all work fine u just follow the steps correctly and your iphone will be fine

I have jailbroken over a thousand iphone since the first generation iphone and I appreciate very much pod2g endeavor writing the script to jailbreak 5.0 & 5.0.1. I know it must take much effort and time to achieve that. However, I would like to say that the current jailbreak fom pod2g has many glitches. The springboard crashes among other problems therewith. I am not trying to undermine his hard work, I am only saying it because the jailbreak needed more testing before it was released. So far, I have jailbroken 3 iphone 4 with his jailbreak and they all work fine until I start installing the Cydia apps such as intelliscreenX, BiteSMS, etc. Some of the icons where white but I was able to fix that issue; nevertheless, the other issues I have are permanent and consistent.

I was so happy when I read the news about JB on iOS 5.0.1, but then I started to read sad comments from people having weird issues after jailbreaking iOS 5.0.1... There were some positive feedbacks but I prefer to wait until this jailbreak is 100% bugless;) I keep my finger crossed for making this JB perfect soon:)

After further testing and debugging several iphones, the jailbreak now is working flawlessly! However, I would be very cautious restoring your jailbroken applications with Cydia, as some are creating serious issues to the jailbreak. I would recommend installing each application separately!

This is Hari frm INDIA.I have IPHONE4 which i got frm US and iam using with GEVEY in india.Recently i updated OS to 5.0.1 and phone got locked.As for information what i got we have to use AT&T sim to unlock it.One day back i used JB softwar...e to Jb and successfuly it completed.But it is not able to activate SIM and it is showing No Service.To use this iphone do i need use At&T to activate it ....once i upgraded to OS 5.0.1,i Did JB with latest REDSNOW.But still not able use it...can any help on how to resolve it

Hari: You can not unlock iphone with iOS 5 or 5.01 using gevey. Gevey will only work with iOS upto 4.3.5. You just have to wait and see if someone may find an unlock. Nobody knows when that may happen.

@ Hari : I have also brought iphone 4 locked with AT&T. I have upgraded it to 5.0.1 with preserved baseband using custom IPSW. With the help of Gevey SIM, i am able to use it with Vodafone Mumbai. Pls check Settings -> General -> About -> Modem Firmware : If it is 04.10.01 or less you can use your phone. If it is 04.11.08 or above unfortunately it is locked. Note : AT&T don't allow official unlock for any iphones.

@ Hari : If you have AT&T SIM card, it should work for activation of your phone.If you are in Mumbai, I can give you AT&T SIM card. I have used it after I got SIM invalid error in ITunes. Insert it once for activation and then use other SIM which you want to use.
