CPU World has confirmed that Intel plans to launch desktop and mobile Ivy Bridge CPUs on April 29 paving the way for iMac and MacBook updates.
On April 8 Intel will announce Z77, Z75, H77 and B75 chipsets. On the same day we should see numerous reviews of 75 and 77 boards with, well, Sandy Bridge CPUs.
Ivy Bridge processors will be announced in the 4th week of April, between April 22 and April 28. The announcement will include only quad-core models: mobile Core i7 and Core i7 Extreme families, desktop Core i7, Core i5-3570K, i5-3570T, i5-3550, i5-3550S, i5-3450 and i5-3450S. The announced chips will be available for sale on April 29, and the reviews and benchmarks should be published on the same day.
Apple has reportedly already begun production of new thinner 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pros which are thought to utilize Intel's Ivy Bridge processors.
I just sold my 15" Pro, I hope this new laptops come out soon. I just want to know for sure whats coming out, I want a Pro, not too convinced about the Air
Sweet! Can't wait for a 15" MacBook Pro/Air without optical drive. 4 weeks to sell my 17 incher. :D
@Justrabrake: Apple takes its time with the 17" models when there is a redesign, because most people buy 13" and 15" models.
I just bought the latest 17" yesterday off ebay, I didn't want a 15" even thought they are pretty close in size while comparing the two but I also thought even with them eliminating the drive and being light and thin( I Don't like) there prices were still going to be to high and probably going to be more then what I paid for this 17"
