Apple Gets Google to Pull iOS Control Center App From Play Store

Posted July 30, 2013 at 3:35pm by iClarified
Apple has sent a copyright infringement notification to Google getting them to pull an iOS Control Center like app from the Google Play store, reports BGR.

"Control Center developer Hi Tools Studio has contacted BGR via email to state that its original Control Center app has been pulled from the Google Play store. A Hi Tools Studio spokesperson says Google pulled the app after receiving a complaint from Apple and he forwarded an email from Google"

Location_of_copyrighted_work: The application “Control Center”, which is available at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.easyandroid.hi.controls, copies, without authorization, the “Control Center” feature of Apple’s iOS 7. Apple owns the copyright in its iOS software and each of the features thereof. The aforementioned application infringes Apple Inc.’s (“Apple”) copyright rights in the iOS 7 software.

Represented_copyright_holder: Apple Inc.

Even though Google pulled the app, a new 2.0 version of the app has been submitted and is now live on the Google Play store.

You can watch a demo of the app below...

The funny part about this ... Apple hasn't done shit... Unlike apples locked down system... People in android will still be able to download this app and install and use with or without googles apples or anyone's permission. Just like a jailbroken iphone has been able to do "control center" functions since iphone 3G yea that's right since 200 fuking 8

actually, sbsettings was out since before android even existed. BUT, sbsettings didn't handle notifications. apple took sbsettings, spiced it up like android. like i said before, it's a point not worth arguing...

It's funny because the Apple community hate the new iOS 7 UI interface that Jony Ives worked on. But, someone in the darkest cave created an almost exact replica theme for Android, and everyone loves it. Google Play rating for this theme is a 4/5 stars....from Android users!

...with no complaints about the design and revamped UI. If you read the article, a link will lead you to Google Play site of the replica theme page. Reviews are at the bottom, which are, in my opinion better than the reviews of ios7 on iClarified. In regard to the people who hate on the new design, please check past articles about IOS 7 on this site, you'll see in the comments all the hate. I don't like Android, do not get me wrong.

UI Exactly copied from Apple , Shame on you developer.and shame on you google play that doesn't follow app approval process without any checking or standardisation . Developer still able to push new updates even if removed from PlayStore. Google is still accepting the new versions without checking..

android fans can't afford iphones so they just get this. Then they come on this website and try to talk about how much apple products suck blah blah blah.

Why can't Android users afford iPhones? Most high-end Android phones sell for $199 on contract just like iPhones do. What is funny though is how many Apple users are basically using an Android phone. Gmail, Google Now, Google Drive, YouTube, Google Maps, Google Chrome. It's not Android users wanting the Apple experience. It's iPhone users wanting the Android experience.
