Qualcomm Retracts Declaring Apple's 64-bit A7 Processor a 'Marketing Gimmick'

Qualcomm has issued a statement retracting remarks made by its Chief Marketing Officer who recently said the Apple 64-bit A7 processor is just a 'marketing gimmick', reports BGR.

Apple is a major customer of Qualcomm's and was likely very displeased with the CMO's remarks.

Here's the retraction:

“The comments made by Anand Chandrasekher, Qualcomm CMO, about 64-bit computing were inaccurate,” a Qualcomm spokesperson said in a statement delivered to BGR via email. “The mobile hardware and software ecosystem is already moving in the direction of 64-bit; and, the evolution to 64-bit brings desktop class capabilities and user experiences to mobile, as well as enabling mobile processors and software to run new classes of computing devices.”

You can read Chandrasekher's earlier remarks here.

The 64-bit chip itself isn't a gimmick, it's planning for the future, but announcing how much better it is than anything else is pure bull, since the iPhone/iPad are only a max 1 gb of memory. In other words, "I'm sorry I called it a gimmick, it's actually Apple that's acting like a schmuck."

Wow, saying something that made sense at first but acted like bull shit in the end! Apple used 64 bit processors, why do you think it's in the fcking iPhone genius! Sorry you have disability towards respect and attitude towards the number one company, now drink your mommas milk to help you out!

i did not press attention the previous statement from the Qualcomm CMO before cuz i knew it was without any base... the reality its that apple as usually its thinking years ahead of the competition and they shock the word with the A7 64-Bit processor, this its only the beginning from the future, wait till the october 22 when the new iPads are out, this processor will bring the power to the ipad that it was missing to run desktop like Apps on it... after this move its on and all the developers start working and coding their apps on 64-bit it will be the end of the laptops, it will be no sense to buy a laptop anymore.. believe me, lets wait and see...

Exactly, MacBooks and Mac Pro, now that's something samsheeps can't even get back at apple fans at, after all they are the only ones with awards and true thinkers worrying about themselves but competitors, we have seen worse in commercials!
