Apple today updated the Apple TV with new ABC, Bloomberg, Crackle, and KOR TV channels.
9to5Mac notes that the Bloomberg channel is the first to live stream business news 24/7 to Apple TV users.
The majority of the content you’ll find in the new app is the same Bloomberg TV content you’ll find on its website and in its mobile apps but specifically optimized for the larger screen. That includes a live stream of business news, on-demand content with a mix of full TV show episodes and clips, and a special live stream that will appear only for events and breaking news.
In the coming weeks, an update to the Bloomberg channel will bring a playlist feature that's currently integrated into its iOS apps.
Apple has been adding channels to the Apple TV at a fast pace, with Yahoo Screen and PBS launching less than one month ago.
No point for these updates/services until they start serving as some kind of proxy for countries outside US. While I understand the dominant positioning of Apple towards the US market, they should consider providing (let's say) Netflix to other users... (hmm for example outside_US_itunes_store). Hey it's just an idea.
I get all these channels and live in Taiwan - I just use a VPN like unotelly or unblock-us. I love getting NHL and NFL channels and ESPN. Works like a charm.
Nope bit if you change the network DNS setting to 109.123.111.024 then Change the iTunes Store to US you will be able to get the Chanel's. Also it will allow you to play US Netflix content with a UK account. Some Chanel's require a US cable subscription but others work fine.
