Samsung has announced that starting May 19th it will rebrand Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 as 'Terminal Samsung Galaxy S5'.
This is the first time Heathrow has allowed a brand takeover of Terminal 5. The two week campaign will take over the signage, wayfinding, website and every single digital screen at the UK's newest terminal to promote the Galaxy S5 smarpthone.
The initiative includes all signage throughout the Terminal Samsung Galaxy S5 terminal – at the entrance and drop-off locations, in the lounges, at security and at the gates. In addition, all 172 digital panels in the main terminal, gate rooms and baggage reclaim areas will feature the rebrand 'Terminal Samsung Galaxy S5' and images of the Galaxy S5 smartphone.
Russell Taylor, Vice President, Corporate Marketing, at Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, said: "We are always looking for ways to maximise brand impact and this activity is testament to that. The partnership with Heathrow Airport and JCDecaux Airport was a one-off opportunity to push the boundaries like no other brand has been allowed to do before."
Online visitors to the Terminal 5 will also experience a rebranded 'Terminal Samsung Galaxy S5' home page.
Tacky...clearly grasping at straws...
Watch UK travel slooooooow down for that two weeks... LOL
And to the guys that say that we are JEALOUS that Apple didn't do this first.

Samsung should install their tablets in toilet stalls. At least people can use them while they doo their business. That would have been better use of advertising dollars.
Apple never have to pay the airport to put their stuff in the airport, the consumers and the business uses apple to enhance their services. i.e, SFO, Marriots, Hilton's, W's and all quality hotels. Even motels won't use a Samsung powered by Andoid for it lack of stability.
