Best Buy to Sell the Pebble Steel Smartwatch Starting June 15th

Pebble has announced that Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores will begin selling the Pebble Steel smartwatch on Sunday, June 15th.

Last year, Best Buy became our very first retail partner—the first shop to sell the original Pebble in stores and online. We’re excited to team up with Best Buy once more to make Pebble Steel available for $229 in two finishes: Brushed Stainless and Black Matte—both with a black leather strap. Matching Brushed Stainless and Black Matte Pebble Steel watchbands will be available later on as a separate accessory. In addition, we’re introducing a third color for the original Pebble at Best Buy, with Arctic White joining Jet Black and Cherry Red for just $149.

“Pebble’s first smartwatch, which was launched exclusively at Best Buy, made a big splash with consumers last year. This is technology that people want to test and try before buying, so we’re happy to partner with Pebble again and bring the same exclusive opportunity to our customers for Pebble Steel” says Carly Charlson, spokesperson for Best Buy.

If you're looking for Father's Day gift the Pebble Steel might be a good choice. If you can't wait until Sunday to pick one up at Best Buy, there is a next day shipping option on Pebble's site.

i think it's for father's day. reducing the price for gifts(but getting less too). i'm still waiting on the iwatch. to be honest i would have purchased a pebble just to play around but i think it needs to be price much much cheaper. the pebble steel should have been the evolution of the watch while keeping the same price point of the original pebble. the original should have been marked even lower to get people into the door.
