Apple has announced that iOS 8 adoption has reached 56% as measured by the App Store on November 10th. That's an increase of 4% from October 27th when Apple last measured the number.
Adoption of iOS 8 has been slower than iOS 7; however, it does appear to be picking up. Holiday sales of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus should also increase usage of the new operating system.
Apple has already seeded iOS 8.1.1 to developers and it could be released to the public very soon.
and unfortunally my dead iPad2 is on the iOS8 statistics. an useless brick in the box.

battery life sucks compare to ios 7.0.6 jailbroken
I noticed that my iphone 5 drain faster on ios 8.1 jailbroken
I wished I didn't update it.
people be careful when jailbreak ios 8.1 using passcode. after reboot it might stuck on apple logo.
process should be -> restore, jailbreak (do not click cydia), restore from backup, click cydia, reboot and last set password.
make sure you backup your info just incase.

I am surprised that 5% of people are already on Lollipop. :)

My guess is that, some of those are people who tried IOS 8, and didn't like it. When they tried to go back they found out Apple stopped signing IOS 7, to force people to stay on IOS 8.

Just curious, not looking for an argument: what's not to like? To me it's a nice improvement, good new features.

Still not widespread acceptance, especially given how quickly everyone jumped on iOS 7. I'm guessing everyone sees 8 as only applying to the newer devices, thus users with older devices feel no need to jump on the bandwagon.
