Apple has announced that iOS 8 adoption has reached 60% as measured by the App Store on November 24th. That's an increase of 4% from November 10th when Apple last measured the number.
Adoption of iOS 8 has been slower than iOS 7; however, it is increasing steadily. Holiday sales of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are also likely to increase usage of the new operating system.

As far as I know, when you have an iPhone 6, you are forced to have ios8. Methinks that that is the overwhelming reason for the high adoption rate of ios8

it is easy to understand the slow down, people invested some thousend dollars, euros ... in iPads and iPhones and they are not willing to throu them on the trash box, just because the Tim Cook wants to. the iOS8 killed all the models under the iPhone 4s and iPad 3, still alot of users killed their equipments without a chance to come back to iOS7, otherwise the adoption would be under 50%

Achmed, three weeks ago ios 8 adoption was at around 25%. Now that pangu is out it is now at 61% adoption. And ur telling me to cue the connection between the rise in adoption and jailbreak? Sorry but im pretty sure the jailbreak played a part in it buddy. U gotta admit it did even a little

Cue the stupid comments about how this has anything to do with a jailbreak being released.

I believe it's got a lot to do with jail braking, many people that I know heard that iOS 8.1.1 is blocking the jailbreak so they upgraded as fast as possible to 8.1 not to miss the chance.

So it's not that stupid, they stayed as long as possible on iOS 7.1.2 jail broken because the tweaks on Cydia were not upgraded yet to iOS 8, but now Apple gave them no more choices and most tweaks are being upgraded right now.
