A user on China's Weibo site (similar to Twitter) posted a photo today that is allegedly the manufacturing mold for the iPad Pro's rear shell. The iPad Pro is Apple's rumored larger tablet with a display of 12-13 inches.
Obviously, we can't verify the authenticity of the photo, or whether it really is the rear shell for Apple's rumored device. Renders of the rear shell leaked out of Foxconn earlier this week, but we aren't sure of the authenticity of those images as well.
Unfortunately, the purported rear shell mold does not reveal much, other than a faint Apple logo in the center of the mold and a rear camera cutout in the top right corner. The mold could also be an unofficial prototype or dummy unit.
Would you be interested in a larger iPad Pro model?
Judging from the Apple logo placement which is very faint, it's define toy larger ipad, the same portrait designed tablet, and by portrait deisgn I mean no home button on the sides, not that I asked for or expected it.
I can tell what they mean by ipad 'pro'. Maybe this finally means a better version of the surface in which I am guessing ipad will come with a keyboard that works like OS X but when it clicks in, it automatically transforms to OS X from ios and (possibly if ever done) keep the apps opened but switch to web version, or even vice versa when removing keyboard. Who knows? Maybe the keyboard will be built right into the case.
