Renders of Larger iPad Rear Shell Leaked Out of Foxconn?

Renders of a larger iPad rear shell have reportedly been leaked from out of Foxconn. The images were posted online earlier today by Nowhereelse.

Captured gently by a worker who claims to work in a factory FOXCONN, the snapshot below seems to confirm the existence of the imposing shelf. The employee in question specifies that the phases of testing (EVT) launched in the course of last summer were halted following the recent approval by Apple last prototypes made by a subcontractor and that production top boxes that will host the components of this iPad XXL is about to start.

The person who took the photo claims the thickness is between 6.9 and 7.5mm. Notably, in the image we can see additional speaker holes at the top of the device supporting claims that the larger iPad, possibly called the iPad Pro or iPad Plus will have stereo speakers. Previous reports suggest that the iPad will feature a 12.2-inch LCD and be 7mm thick.

Nowhereelse says their source has provided accurate information in the past.

Take a look at the photos below. You can follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.

Can it play flash? Exactly
Harh - January 6, 2015 at 2:50am
yes. It exactly can. Either apps or jailbreak for tweak.

I could see this just being a more powerful iPad than the Air series. I see what they're doing. Making it thicker to add much more power while the Air 2 will probably maintain the same design and thickness as last year. It's a new Apple

well for thickness, thin or thick, this could mean Apple can add more than what they did to iPad Air 2 which may need to be a bit more thick or still maintain the thinness like the air 2.

Ya like how they did with the 6 Plus compared to the 6
Hrhv - January 5, 2015 at 4:43pm
Except it was optional to do.
Yourface - January 5, 2015 at 6:13pm
How optional? It's because of the optical image stabilization. They wouldn't just decide to go with 7.1mm and not a better 6.9

Oh nevermind, I got caught up in bending phones.

Why does everyone presume this will be an iPad Plus and not a Mac Touch?
BecauseIt'sWhatYouThink - January 5, 2015 at 1:38pm
its not built like a Mac, that's why.

and after its release how long before somebody bends it ... LOL
Ren - January 4, 2015 at 11:19pm
Who would bend an iPad? In fact it won't be as easy anyway. Perhaps a new harder metrical is used just like sapphire.

I guess speakers on top and bottom will make a "surround" sound.
WhyShouldITellYou - January 5, 2015 at 12:02am
Four Speakers, one at each corner. That would allow stereo in either portrait or landscape. If it's only ONE set each at top and bottom, then stereo will be in landscape mode only.

He was making a joke the way he saw the speakers like it's covered more of the area you are listening to.
