Apple is expected to price its new 9.7-inch iPad Pro starting at $599, $100 higher than the iPad Air 2, reports 9to5Mac.
With the iPad Pro name and features, the new 9.7-inch iPad will be Apple’s first to come with a starting price higher than $499. The smaller iPad Pro will start at $599 and include 32 GB of storage, according to sources. The $599 base configuration is for a WiFi-only model, while higher-priced versions with 128 GB of storage and the ability to connect to LTE cellular networks will also be offered. Apple will announce the new iPad at its event on Monday, March 21st.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro is not a replacement for the iPad Air 2 which will still be sold at $499.
The new iPad Pro is said to feature an A9X processor, four speakers, a Smart Connector, and support for the Apple Pencil. The display should include brightness and glare improvements over the iPad Air 2. Additionally, it's expected that Apple will have a new Smart Keyboard cover feature for launch.
Apple will likely unveil the 9.7-inch iPad Pro at its 'Let Us Loop You In' press event on March 21st. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, or RSS for updates.
Tim Cook a,ready mentioned that Apple isn't planning a crossover between iOS and OS X device like that, but that's all that took for evidence that we have seen before in a different way? The keyboard is going to be the same like the iPad Pro's which means it won't have that OS X designed keyboard, the pencil has nothing involved with OS X, and the CPU is just for that boost for what people do with extra space and multitasking even if you include the games that can be played. If you want OS X, jaiobreak it and done.
Um no not still. iOS is a mobile OS not pro. Without a jailbreak it's even more handicapped. A jailbreak or features similar to it won't allow for it to be a "Pro" device. There is no file system, you can't run full photoshop. You can't tell me you don't understand. It's ridiculous. Android isn't better on tablets but the functionalities are more expanded than in iOS. Like I said optimized OS X in an iPad would probably make it better.
I agree completely. I own an iPad Pro, and I love it. It's by far my favorite Apple Product. But iOS is a great phone/tablet OS, not a Pro OS. I think Apple should make a OS specifically for iPad Pro (similar to how apple watch has watchOS or apple tv has tvOS) that more closely resembles a desktop OS.
With that said, iPad Pro is amazing. I've owned numerous laptops over the years, and with every iteration, it's more or less the same experience, just faster/more powerful, etc.
iPad Pro with Apple Pencil is by far the most enjoyable production product I've ever owned. It's suits my production needs exceedingly well, and I'd recommend it to anyone with similar needs.
