Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Adapter Leaked? [Video]

Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Adapter Leaked? [Video]

An authentic Apple Lightning to 3.5mm headphone adapter has allegedly been leaked by Tinhte.vn.

Maybe you do not know, but some factory of Foxconn accessories for the iPhone is in Vietnam. I just picked up a piece from the Lightning adapter to use the 3.5mm headphone identical material other Apple devices. There are many reasons to believe this adapter is real, and it is believed that Apple will bundle this adapter in the box 7 upcoming iPhone instead equipped with a headset Lightning.

The adapter is short, compact, and works on devices running iOS 10 without any problem; however, when connected to iOS 9 a warning appears that says 'this accessory is not supported by this device'.

Apple is widely rumoured to be dropping the headphone jack on its next generation iPhone. This adapter will likely be included with purchase of the device to ease the transition for users.

Apple introduces a non physical keyboard phone, users are outraged. We all got used to it. Apple adds lightning port, users are outraged. We all got used to it. Apple redesigns iOS 7, users are outraged. We all get used to it. Apple makes a bigger iphone, users are outraged. We all get used to it. It's called progress....audio jack is a 40 year old technology. I promise you, 5 years from now most smart phones will NOT have an audio jack and... surprise.... we'll all get used to it.

How are people outraged over a bigger phone they have been asking for? Not to mention the first few iPhones ever released to support old icons. I not once have gotten pissed with anything you mentioned and I to look forward to no headphone jack. Don't forget to mention about some ports that were eliminated in the Retina MacBook Pro.

I was referring to all the people in this thread who are again upset about a new change... I welcomed all the other changes. But there were people who thought the 5s was a perfect size and would not upgrade (hence Apple responding by now making the 5SE).

Yes, some of the changes I can get used to but that doesn't mean some of the changes are not the best! This change is so We consumers will beats headphones. It's pretty obvious to me. So it makes it more difficult for those of us who don't want to buy any more gadgets. That's one reason I haven't turned in my MacBook Pro from 2009 to get a new one. I like my internal DVD player I like my 17 inch screen. Yeah I can get used to the new ones but but don't prefer to. I missed a couple already out dated programs that I really loved and used and can no longer use. Obsolescence is not always a good thing.

Correction: should say will buy. Also want to add what's the big deal of keeping an extra point on the phone? Is that really hurting something? Or do these gigs have nothing better to do than to change things that already work?
Ellen
Ellen - July 29, 2016 at 7:40pm
Correction: should say geeks not gigs. I love it when the phone puts in its own words but I don't always catch them or the phone changes words when I press the send button.

I agree wth you that not all changes are a good thing. I wouldn't trade my MacBook Air for anything even for the new MacBook. As much as I like how it combined many ports into one, it eliminated the MagSafe magnet that I thought was necessary and of course, not enough ports. Never mind the rest that I find a plus with like the display or the keyboard.

I don't know where you get all your outrage statistics from. Many changes did not produce outrages that I heard about and some changes not every one gets used to. When the bigger phone came out it was not the only choice. It is not like every one bought the larger phone. I did and I love it. I get lots of comments about how big it is, but it suits my needs just fine. I have a number of headphones so If I were to buy the new phone and did not have the adaptor I guess I'm supposed to throw them all out and buy more Bluetooth ones? What a waste! I wonder if the competition will buy into this. Seems to me that more people are buying other phones.I see a lot of Samsungs around these days.

gamerscul9870 - July 30, 2016 at 5:04pm
I bet the adapter will be with the phone, so I wouldn't call it a waste just yet. It's no surprise competition will buy into this and has been buying into everything since the very beginning, but the only reason people buy other phones is for how cheaper they are. To me, I see more iPhones and from where I live, it's not poor, but slightly more towards wealthy.

You claim this is the stupidest yet we don't know if this is true or not yet due to this not being confirmed, but just hope there will be more on the way like have different versions of adapters to bring the headphone jack back to plug into the lightning port but have another lightning ports next to it. It's kind of hard to explain but that will solve the problem. Apple wouldn't make another model with the iPhone because it's roughly the same thing and I think 3 models we are getting out of the 7 are enough. Just save the 6(s) or buy wireless headphones and wait for the 7s if you want.

2016... And the technology they come up is this.. Whyyyyy appleee whyyyyyyy
gamerscul9870
gamerscul9870 - July 29, 2016 at 1:45am
Because 1. Those who purchased EarPods we have now would not rush buying another one just to be lightning. 2. So that lightning can bring better audio through the headphone jack like boomstick (it could be close to that level) 3. What other way around this besides wireless headphones (unless people worry about charging 2 devices and keeping up with it or draining battery slightly faster)?

I still don't get then, how are you supposed to listen to music while charging, like in the car with an aux cord for example?
gamerscul9870
gamerscul9870 - July 28, 2016 at 10:54pm
All because of this adapter? Why can't people just get wireless headphones or make their own adapters?

They'd better include some amazing wireless headphones then. I need both headphones and lightning ports so I can charge and talk at the same time.

gamerscul9870 - July 28, 2016 at 11:13pm
There will be except the one that has earcups and is curve shaped are those beats headphones and in terms of apple making some, they're airpods. It's basically EarPods as a Bluetooth headphones.

The lightning port does not output analog audio. Only digital. Therefore, the only way to use headphones, with an adapter, from the lightning port is with a DAC (Digital/Analog Converter). Typically, the larger the DAC, the better the sound quality. If that thing has a DAC inside it, it will be crap sound quality.

I understand that a lot of cases of liquid damage cause them to shift to this so-called 'innovation' (since it's harder for liquid to go through charging port). So, now I have to choose between charging or listening to music? How stupid..they should've made wireless charging at first.
gamerscul9870
gamerscul9870 - July 28, 2016 at 11:11pm
1. what is so-called about the innovation? 2. There are going to be lightning headphones, 3. It has yet to be confirmed if this is a real adapter. I hope that there will be one that will connect to lightning, but the adapter will he a headphone and lightning together next to eachother.

This is NOT like Apple!! What sense does is make to remove 3.5mm jack and then provide adaptor or you need to buy one!! Apple is becoming like other companies to wants to just increase their revenue by "creating" unnecessary accessories!
Nitro Junkie
Nitro Junkie - July 28, 2016 at 5:08pm
They've done it with other old and outdated data ports. What's the difference now. Everyone cried when they switched to the Lightning port. They got over it. It's called change. Times and technologies change. Deal with it. Removing the 3.5mm jack makes more room for a slightly larger battery or other things.

I love the 3.5 mm headphone jack. I have Bluetooth headphones but they have batteries that die. I don't want to fumble with a stupid adapter. Crappy idea Apple.
Nitro Junkie
Nitro Junkie - July 28, 2016 at 4:44pm
Use that thing inside your skull called a brain and keep the adapter connected to your 3.5mm headphones cord then you don't have to "fumble" with it. Problem solved! It's simple logic.

We don't even know if this has happened yet. it's even mentioned that Apple is making lightning headphones and possibly Bluetooth Airpods. Yes that's what they're called.
