The launch of Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 8 may be delayed until October or November, according to a recent report from the Economic Daily News via DigiTimes.
Technical issues related to the lamination process of curved OLED panels, and the adoption of a 3D sensing system may cause the delay of the new iPhone devices, said the paper.
The pull-in of orders for passive components from the supply chain is being closely watched to see if production of the new iPhones is on track for a September release. The supply chain should begin to pull in orders for passive components such as MLCCs in June.
Major suppliers included in the iPhone supply chain include TSMC, Foxconn Electronics, Pegatron Technology, Wistron, Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE), Largan Precision, Cyntec and Yageo.
It's widely expected that the 10th anniversary iPhone will be a massive update. It will purportedly have a chassis made of reinforced glass with a stainless steel metal frame and an edge-to-edge display that has no bezels on the top and bottom. Additionally, the front camera, Touch ID, speaker, and other sensors will apparently be embedded into the display. Another report claims that the device would be a clear piece of glass with a next-generation OLED screen. The 5.8-inch screen is said to feature a main 5.15-inch display area with a reserved 'function area' below for virtual buttons. The device may use a stacked logic board design freeing up space for a larger battery pack. More recently, Apple is said to be equipping the phone with wirelesscharging, an iris scanner or face scanner, and a 3D camera.
If it looks like this it will be awesome! We can wait a little longer because we know we will get a perfect product. I can't wait though, even though I love my 7 plus.
What are you a professional photographer? Beside that it's just a mini iPad which is way to big for a phone, I understand woman getting those because they can keep them in their purses but a man walking with this ugly beast is a joke, so beside the 2 cameras which what they do an App can do the same effects on the single camera on the 7 which does not look ridiculous and fits in your hand and packet just fine and a smart person would get an iPad to watch movies, TV or videos or draw and walking with the 7 in your pocket and an iPad in your hand doesn't look stupid on a man. Only a few years ago I might have agreed but today all smartphones none exception got good cameras unless you are a professional photographer which wouldn't use a phone but by a real camera so like I said all this talk about which phone got a better camera is no longer relevant.
No problem at all as long as all issues get sorted out to avoid embarrassing problems or even big mistakes on Apple's end. Take your time and give us a polished product.
