The people familiar with the matter said the “Animal Crossing” smartphone app is likely to be released in the latter half of 2017, and “The Legend of Zelda” would follow that, although they cautioned that the timing and order of the releases could be changed. Nintendo is developing the games with Tokyo-based DeNA Co.
The Legend of Zelda is popular in the United States. Due to a shortage of Nintendo's new Switch console, the company sold more copies of the Switch version of the game than consoles to play it on.

How can Nintendo handle their fantastic IPs this way instead of delivering incredible games? So not looking forward to hearing about another 'meh' run or 'Been there, done that' game. Next.
