Engineer Modifies iPhone 7 to Bring Back the Headphone Jack [Video]

Scotty Allen, an American engineer, entrepreneur, and hacker, has managed to modify the iPhone 7 to bring back the headphone jack.

I love my iPhone, but it doesn't have a headphone jack! So I decided to add my own. For real.

Allen went through many iterations and a lot of debugging to get his creation working. He went through three complete iPhone 7 devices, a handful of screens and numerous internal components.

"I ended up designing lots of circuit boards that were more complex than anything I’ve ever done", says Allen. "I had three iterations of PCB designs manufactured, and 4 different flexible PCB designs."

It’s not because of waterproofing, Samsung and LG phones have headphone ports as well as a higher waterproofing rating. They are just moving on from that old technology.

They took the headphones out for a reason, Bluetooth v5 is better than headphones analog, I barely use my headphones anymore and I won't miss them once I upgrade from my 6s plus to the 8 plus or iPhone X

No love for Windows Vista? He might as well give his aiFon AM/FM radio, one backside 130x170p TFT screen if the smart UI fails, dual boot running Windows CE & a HUEG antenna so calls never drop. He can has his headphones!!!!!
