Works Great! Just jailbroke and unlock my iphone 1.1.2 took about an hour to go through the process. Had to redo a couple of steps but it worked and the best part is it was all done for free!

Thanks iClarified for this tutorial... I just bought an iPhone yesterday (Mar 07) and it came with 1.1.3 OTB, so I went to iTunes and Restore to 1.1.3 (I didn't know why but I did it!) then I set it on recovery mode and execute ZiPhone 2.0 with the options Activate, Jailbreak and Verbose; once it finished, I installed BSD Subsystem and OpenSHH, then I followed this tutorial and that's all... an 1.1.3 OTB iPhone uncloked! Thanks again!

rick...can u tell me how can i find out wat the source for big boss would be...any website or anythin?
Rick
Rick - February 29, 2008 at 5:36pm
@aditya - you need to find out about the address for the BigBoss souce : I can see only part of the address... http://sleepers.net/iphone - not sure if it's longer than that. There is also a program called fix disc that is supposed to move files too but I have never used it. I hope that helps

thanks for all this, iClarified. i have a 1.1.2 (OTB) and successfully unlocked with this method. there is, however, one problem. after sliding to unlock the phone sometimes freezes for a couple of seconds or displays the ipod bar. any ideas what i should do? thanks.

@BS Well, locate me works the same way it did before the unlocking - you need to lunch Locate me first. I believe you have to be on the latest modem firmware to get locate me functionality from Google Maps. uTube works fine, keyboard, ringrones, Safary, etc works - so far, I have not found any faults at all. I hope that answers your queries

@Rick When you say everything is fine are you implying that with the UL/JB done your Maps "LocateMe" feature and YouTube are working on a non-native SIM and 1.1.3?

Hi all, I have a UK 1.1.2 OTB iphone that was JB and DEV Team upgraded to 1.1.3 and working perfectly well. Since the news about the new software to unlock 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 OTB was released I have been reading several forums and websites. I didn't really have to unlock my phone, JB it's good enough for me but I guess I like living dangerously :-) - Going back to 1.1.1 was not really an option for me - I'm too lazy for that lol so it was down to this guide and the Ziphone guide. The Ziphone seems to have quite a few issues and the version keep changing. The last version unlock, JB, Avtivate and also downgrades the bootloader to 3.9 - I don't really know what the advantage is in downgrading the bootloader if your phone is already unlocked. So I decided to go for this method. I read pages and pages of comments here and I came to the conclusion that the mistake people were making was not having enough space in their phone to do the unlock. I already had moved the fonts with the BossTool application and that gave me 84 MB back - I thought about deleting some applications in case it might interfere with the unlock but I don't have many and the ones I have don't really change the system. I mean, I don't have the summer board or Categories, etc. So I left all my apps in place, including BSD subsystem, OpenSSH, Term Vt100. Set the Auto-Lock to never, added iClarified to my sources... and follow the rest of the guide. I think it took less than 3 minutes to download the package and perform the unlock. At the end, it told me the phone had been successfully unlocked. I tested with a prepaid Orange SIM card and all was fine. So, my thanks to iClified and of course to Geohot whose work has made all this possible and deserves our donations. One happy customer :-)

iClarified, You should add a forum for this. You have great tutorials but this comment setup is horrible. I asked a simple question that no one answered. Found my answer at hackintosh forums.

Rrcoolp, please look at the beginning of this tutorial. It states repeatedly and in capital letters that this tutorial is for 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 OTB iPhones. You have a 1.1.1 OTB iPhone. It will not work for your phone. The easiest thing for you to do is follow any of our ZiPhone unlock tutorials.

And sorry the firmware version was updated to 1.1.2 and jailbroken before starting the Unlock method - which does not wotk. It ends with LOCKED SIM.

I have followed the above method 6 times but still does not work. It completes with LOCKED SIM. THis method is not fullproof with all PHONES. I have version 1.1.1 - Model MA712LL with model firmware 04.03.13_G.

I actually have a different recipe. I have some applications such as LocateMe not working after using the Ziphone to unlock. Intead I do the following to get to 1.1.3. 1) let iTunes upgrade my 1.1.2 phone to 1.1.3. 2) use Ziphone with the jailbreak and Activate option. I do not unlock it with Ziphone. 3) Install BSD and add iclarified as a source, 4) use the GeoHot unlock application to unlock. I find that I get a cleaner unlock that way and LocateMe works fine. That means after I install LocateMe I can use the new GoogleMap features. If I let Ziphone unlock the phone, LocateMe does not work and thus I cannot use Google Locater feature. that's my story.

Is this still the way to go for OTB 1.1.3 or is Ziphone a better option?
