Apple Announces March 27th Event in Chicago: 'Let's Take a Field Trip'

Apple has invited the media to an education focused event that will take place March 27th in Chicago.

The invite features a hand drawn Apple logo and says, "Let's take a field trip". Underneath it, in small letters, it reads, "Join us to hear creative new ideas for teachers and students."


The event is being held at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago starting at 10am CT.

Apple is rumored to be working on a cheaper 9.7-inch iPad as well as a cheaper 13-inch MacBook Air which could be unveiled at the event. Additionally, Apple is expected to finally release its AirPower wireless charging mat this month.

The pen/pencil drawn Apple logo suggests perhaps an updated iPad Pro as well. We're expecting a redesigned 11-inch iPad Pro with no Home button and an updated 12.9-inch iPad Pro to launch sometime this year.
