Microsoft has unveiled a second generation Surface Hub featuring a 4K+ 50.5-inch multi-touch display powered by Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Whiteboard, Office 365, Windows 10 and the intelligent cloud.

Surface Hub 2 was designed from the ground up to be used by teams – to get people out of their seats, to connect and ideate, regardless of location. The new Surface Hub 2 is sleeker, more agile and more affordable to fit any workspace or work style.

The Surface Hub 2 has built-in 4K cameras that rotate with the device, integrated speakers, far field mic arrays, and a 3×2 aspect ratio. It can scale and adapt to your space by tiling up to four screens together in portrait or landscape view. Dynamic rotation allows you to use the best orientation for your content and Microsoft has teamed up with Steelcase to create a system of rolling stands and mounts to help make Surface Hub 2 mobile.

Imagine how much your team could get done being able to work simultaneously across Microsoft Whiteboard, PowerBI, PowerPoint, and a full view video call.

The first Surface Hub made it possible to join a meeting or open a whiteboard with one touch and the Surface Hub 2 adds multi-user sign in.

Using multi-user sign in, multiple people can authenticate in the same Surface Hub 2 workspace, allowing them to simultaneously access their documents and ideas, merging them with the ideas of their teammates – and making collaboration as natural as meeting at a whiteboard.

Microsoft says it has sold over 5000 of the original Surface Hub across 24 markets and believes the more affordable Surface Hub 2 will be an even bigger success. It will begin testing the device with select commercial customers this year and it will be available to purchase in 2019. More details at the link below.
