A new report from Macotakara claims that Apple's next generation iPad Pros will feature Face ID, slightly smaller dimensions, a relocated smart connector, and more.

According to information from a supplier, the frame of the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro will be reduced to 247.5mm (H) x 178.7mm (W) x 6mm (T) from 250.6mm x 174.1mm x 6.1mm. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro will purportedly have dimensions of 280mm (H) x 215mm (W) x 6.4mm (T) down from 305.7mm x 220.6mm x 6.9mm.

The front and back edges of device will allegedly be processed with a diamond cut similar to the iPhone SE and the 3.5mm headphone jack will reportedly be removed.

As expected, Apple is said to add Face ID to its new iPad Pros. Macotakara says unlocking your device will only be possible in portrait orientation. Additionally, the Smart Connector is said to have been moved to the lower rear side, close to the Lightning connector. This suggests that a new Smart Keyboard may be introduced to accommodate the change to a vertical position.

Apple will likely unveil its new iPad Pros this fall. Please follow iClarified on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, or RSS for updates.
