Apple is expected to announce Verizon Wireless a carrier for its upcoming tablet and the end of AT&T's iPhone exclusivity, according to the NYPost.
Apple is expected to name Verizon Wireless as one of its carriers with its anticipated unveiling of a new tablet device on Wednesday, sources told The Post. That means Apple head Steve Jobs will probably introduce a Verizon iPhone, ending AT&T's exclusive hold on the hot smartphone.
"It's almost a certainty," said telecom consultant Dunston Almeida. "AT&T losing iPhone is the worst-kept secret on Wall Street. The only question is whether Apple announces a Verizon iPhone this week."
A source told the NYPost that Apple has been "extremely frustrated" with AT&T's service which regularly drops customers' calls. AT&T's exclusive deal with Apple ends in June, sources said.
Thank god!!! AT&T has been the worst service provider I have ever had!!! Only reason I stayed was for the iPhone and that was beginning to be not enough. Good bye AT&T... hellllloooo Verizon.
why are people so mad that the iphone might be going to Verizon? This just means it will be on AT&T and verizon. you have your choice of carrier; CDMA or GSM. I live in the US so i dont care that CDMA is only in the US.
So a cdma device....and Mapple is supposed to mean progress and new technology....on the other hand, a device that could be used only in the states?, i really dont like Mapple but i also wont believe for them to be that stupid.
