SuperMegaUltraGroovy Announces FuzzMeasure 3.2

SuperMegaUltraGroovy has announced the immediate availability of FuzzMeasure 3.2, an update to the award-winning audio and acoustics measurement package for Mac OS X. This release carries many general improvements, including new AppleScript commands, 64-bit support for Mac OS 10.6, and various performance enhancements.

"FuzzMeasure is a very popular utility among its many circles of users," says Chris Liscio, the company's founder. "Acoustic performance is very important to recording and mastering engineers, and FuzzMeasure is the de facto standard for measuring acoustics on the Mac."

"However, [FuzzMeasure] is also growing a following in the emerging impulse response production industry," says Liscio. "Talented recording engineers are going out in the field to sample the reverberation behavior of world-renowned concert halls and vintage outboard reverb gear to bring their unique presence to your studio recordings."

Because these producers often work with a large set of recordings that were gathered in the field, FuzzMeasure now has additional AppleScript commands that allow the processing of multiple recordings to be automated. The output can then be saved to impulses that are compatible with a wide variety of convolution reverb plugins, such as Space Designer, which is included with Logic Studio.

Since FuzzMeasure deals with large quantities of data, the 64-bit support in 3.2 is a welcome feature for users that regularly capture measurements at higher sample rates and bit depths. Furthermore, by taking advantage of the 64-bit mode in recent Intel CPUs, processing speed has improved noticeably for certain tasks.

Pricing and Availability:
FuzzMeasure 3.2 is a free update for customers running 3.0 and later. FuzzMeasure 3.2 costs $150 (USD) for new users, and $75 for users upgrading from 2.0 or earlier. FuzzMeasure 3.2 requires Mac OS 10.5 Leopard to run, and 10.6 for 64-bit support. More information, and a free demo, can be found at the product site.
