Apple is donating to support relief efforts in Indonesia after a magnitude-7.7 earthquake struck the country's eastern region over the weekend.
Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the donation in a post on X Tuesday. "Our hearts are with the people of Indonesia following the devastating earthquake," Cook wrote. "We are grateful for the first responders giving support and helping those in need. Apple is donating to support the relief efforts on the ground."
A magnitude-7.7 earthquake struck eastern Indonesia on August 15. At the time of publication, nearly 70 people had died, more than 200 had been injured, and thousands had been driven from their homes. Nearly 1,000 aftershocks were recorded during the first 24 hours after the initial quake.
The company did not disclose the size of its donation or which organizations will receive the funding. Apple has routinely donated following major disasters, including this July's wildfires in Europe and earthquakes in Japan.
