Notably, Prosser says that ProMotion for the iPhone 12 Pro Max is not guaranteed. He believes the hardware will support the feature; however, if Apple decides it's not worth the sacrifice in battery life, it won't be enabled in software.

Apple could announced the new smartphones as early as September but they are likely to arrive to customers in October/November.
