Synium Software has announced the release of MacFamilyTree 5.7, an update to their popular genealogy solution for Mac OS X. Enjoy the new source management and specify the credibility per source file and save it along with your data. So how reliable is this source? Adding your level of confidence is just one click away.

MacFamilyTree 5.7 also sports the new "Facts" feature. Besides formal information like name, gender or important events in a person's life, there's always some facts that make that past life more tangible. Hair color, eye color, social security numbers or National ID numbers, MacFamilyTree 5.7 now stores these valuable pieces of information.

Audio and video recording - MacFamilyTree 5.7 allows capturing of interviews with a webcam like the iSight or any Quicktime compatible webcam. The stories relatives or friends can tell will bring the user as close as possible to understanding that period of time after all these years. The user's Mac is a neutral observer, capturing and preserving the exact wording of a story. One doesn't have to rely solely on one's memory anymore, MacFamilyTree can be used instead.

Also new: The Family Group Sheet showing a person in his or her close family context. The Kinship Report has been vastly improved with a far more detailed and precise naming scheme for relationship types.
