Apple may be preparing to expand its Vision lineup with a new 'Air' model that uses titanium to reduce weight, according to a new report from leaker Kosutami.
In a post on X today, the leaker also claimed that the new 'Air' model will feature an iPhone 5-era black finish.
Our next friend in the Vision lineup is so thin, features titanium to reduce weight—including the connectors and the battery—and comes in iPhone 5-era black, which looks like graphite dark blue. And be noted: this might not be called —Pro, but you can Air it out.
In a follow-up post, Kosutami clarified that the device will still use aluminum for most of its exterior, while titanium will be used for select internal structures to help reduce weight.
Quota: only a few of the internal structures would use titanium to reduce weight. Most of the outside would still be aluminum, featuring a midnight black-like surface.
Separately, the leaker shared photos of what could be a new power connector for the device.
Not the same size as the OG Lightning plug. It's wider than that. Much smaller and thinner than the OG Vision Pro plug (battery side).
Recent reports suggest Apple already has a second-generation Vision Pro in production. Details on Vision Pro 2 remain sparse, with timelines varying. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts production will begin in late 2025, featuring an M5 chip and Apple Intelligence support; however, other upgrades are still unclear.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman does not expect a Vision Pro 2 shipment in 2025 but allows for a potential unveiling, pointing to a 2026 release. In January, he reported that Apple had shifted focus to a lower-cost headset now in accelerated development—a model Kuo ties to 2027.
