Google has released its latest #BestPhonesForever ad, this time taking a direct jab at Apple in a spot titled "The Talking Phones Podcast." The video features an iPhone and a Google Pixel having a conversation about the "crazy coincidence" of Apple's newest features bearing a striking resemblance to those the Pixel has offered for years.
The ad opens with the two personified phones recording a podcast. The iPhone begins by referencing a previous discussion about how people think it's "doing the same thing as you," dismissing the notion as a coincidence. It then brings up its recently announced features, which have led to similar accusations.
First, the iPhone mentions its newly unveiled Live Translation for text messages, a feature expected in iOS 26. The Pixel points out that it had the same capability four years ago. The iPhone then brings up Hold Assist and Call Screening, only for the Pixel to note it introduced those features five and seven years ago, respectively.
Throughout the exchange, the two phones sarcastically agree that the similarities are "so crazy" and "totally unbelievable." The ad concludes with the iPhone changing its tune and asking, "just out of curiosity," what the Pixel is working on for its next major release. The Pixel responds with a nervous "um..." before the video ends.
