Apple's upcoming A20 processor for the 2026 iPhone 18 lineup will reportedly come in two versions, according to a post on Weibo from leaker Mobile Chip Expert based in Hong Kong. The standard A20 chip is codenamed 'Borneo', while a more powerful 'Borneo Ultra' variant is reportedly planned for the iPhone 18 Pro and Apple's first foldable iPhone.
Had dinner with a friend responsible for IC design at Apple. Next year's iPhone 18 with the 2nm A20 processor will have two versions. The regular version is called Borneo, while the processor used in the Pro model and the foldable iPhone is called Borneo Ultra. This should be the first leak online revealing Apple's 2nm processor.
The "Borneo Ultra" chip is also said to power Apple's first foldable iPhone, which is widely expected to debut in 2026. Recent reports have described the device as a 'super thin' design achievement that could cost at least $2,000.
