Voici la procédure de jailbreak pour votre iPhone 4 et l'iOS 4.3.1 avec PwnageTool pour Mac.

Préambule
Faites une sauvegarde de votre iPhone avec iTunes.
Déconnecter l'iPhone du Mac.

Premièrement
Créer un dossier appelé "Pwnage" sur le bureau. A l'intérieur, vous aurez besoin de deux, trois petites choses :

* PwnageTool 4.3, que vous trouverez ici (torrent) ou là.

Et aussi du firmwire 4.3.1 pour l'iPhone 4 : iPhone3,1_4.3.1_8G4_Restore.ipsw

Pour télécharger le fichier IPSW, il faut mieux utiliser Firefox car Safari extrait (souvent) automatiquement les fichiers téléchargés...

Comment jailbreaker votre iPhone avec PwnageTool (Mac) [4.3.1]

Deuxièmement
Double cliquer sur "PwnageTool_4.3.dmg" pour monter l'image puis glisser-deposer l'icône dans le dossier précédemment créé sur le bureau (Pwnage).

Puis, de ce dossier, double cliquer sur PwnageTool pour lancer l'application.

Cliquer sur OK lorsque l'avertissement s'affiche.

Troisièmement
Sur le menu du haut, cliquer sur Expert Mode

Quatrièmement
Cliquer sur l'appareil que vous souhaitez jailbreaker.
Puis cliquer sur la flèche bleue, en bas à droite.

Cinquièmement
Vous arrivez sur l'écran Rechercher firmwire.... Cliquer sur ce lien (il devient bleu) puis cliquer sur la flèche bleue, en bas à droite.

Un écran de sélection apparaît. Choisir le firmwire téléchargé et situé dans le dossier Pwnage. Cliquer sur Ouvrir.

Sixièmement
Vous arrivez maintenant sur un écran avec plusieurs choix. Cliquer sur Général puis sur la flèche bleue, en bas à droite.

L'onglet Général vous permet de déterminer la taille de la partition allouée. Laisser 924 par défaut.
Cocher Activer l'iPhone si vous n'utilisez pas l'opérateur officiel de votre iPhone.
Décocher Activer l'iPhone si votre iPhone est activer légitiment et que vous utilisez l'opérateur officiel.
Puis cliquer sur la flèche bleue, que vous devriez commencer à connaître...

L'onglet Cydia vous permet de créer et de choisir vos 'packages' sans avoir à les installer par la suite manuellement sur votre iPhone.

Cliquer sur le bouton Télécharger des Packages, puis sur le bouton Mettre à jour

Double cliquer sur le 'package' qui vous intéresse puis rendez le actif en cliquant sur le bouton Sélectionner les packages...

Cochez le bouton 'radio' du package que vous voulez installer puis cliquer sur la flèche bleue...

L'onglet Paramètre packages personnalisé affiche la liste des 'packages' utiliser pour votre IPWS personnalisé. Pour le moment, ne toucher à rien... puis cliquer sur la flèche bleue.

Septièmement
Vous êtes prêt à commencer le processus Pwnage !
Cliquer sur Générer puis sur la flèche bleue pour lancer le processus...

Huitièmement
Apparition du pop-up Sauvegarder le fichier firmwire. Sauvegarder le fichier IPWS modifié dans votre dossier Pwnage créé sur votre bureau.

Votre IPWS perso est en train d'être créé. cela peut prendre jusqu'à 10 minutes.

On va vous demander votre mot de passe administrateur. Entrez-le puis cliquer sur le bouton OK

Neuvièmement
Quand votre fichier IPWS sera créé, il vous sera demander de connecter votre iPhone à votre Mac. Quand le logiciel PwnageTool aura détecté votre iPhone, il vous guidera pas à pas vers le mode DFU.

Il n'est pas impossible que vous n'y arriviez pas du premier coup... C'est normal, il faut une petite habitude, mais rien de bien compliquer. Pour entrainement voici ce qu'il va falloir faire :

Presser et maintenir le bouton 'Veille/Marche' et le bouton 'Accueil' de l'iPhone pendant 10 secondes.

Puis relâcher le bouton 'Veille/Marche' tout en maintenant enfoncer le bouton 'Accueil' pendant 10 nouvelles secondes.

Quand vous serez en mode DFU, PwnageTool vous demandera de lancer iTunes.

Dixièmement
Une fois iTunes lancé, maintenez le bouton Alt/Option enfoncé et cliquez sur le bouton 'Restaurer'.

Onzièmement
Naviguez jusqu'au dossier Pwnage créé sur votre bureau et choisir le fichier IPWS modifié récemment créé. Le nom du ficher doit contenir "custom_restore".
Ensuite cliquer sur le bouton 'Choisir'.

Douzièmement
iTunes va alors restaurer votre iPhone avec la version jailbreakée du firmwire 4.3.1...

Fabuleux non ?

Ceux pour qui la restauration bloquerait juste un peu avant la fin... relancer PwnageTool, elle devrait se terminer sans problème.

I have an iphone4, which was jailbroken and unlocked. I followed the instrructions to jailbreak for 4.3.3, and the phone seems to be stuck on the very last bit of the jailbreak restore...ie..the line under the apple completes to 95% of the way and stops. HELP! what do I do? Thanks anyone out there

Nick, thank you! You're a genius and saved me. I was having the same issues, cydia refusing to open after pwnage JB 4.3.3. I re-pwned and followed your instructions and its now opening cydia so I was able to unlock with Ultrasn0w. Anyone else experiencing this issue, follow Nick's solution. Thanks!

Ok. I am stuck on the last part. Every time I try to restore into my custom .ipsw, I get the dreaded This iPhone Could Not Be Restored 1601. I can get my phone to normal, but I would really like to go back to jailbroken status. Can anyone help? Where do I go from here?

There is a couple of important steps need to be mentioned in this tutorial which will make it cleaner 1. Let know the users who are unlocking that ALL THE DATA IN THE PHONE WILL BE LOST. 2. Regarding the Activate Phone checkbox should not be applied for FACTORY UNLOCKED iPhones.

Hi, after i finish installing the custom firmware 4.3.3, my 3g network doesnt work, i cant enter cydia or safari, is this normal?

I finally found the solution to getting cydia from not crashing. With these steps or helper points and the real instructions, I've JB both a 3GS and 4 with the 4.3.3 mod. Also, I tried at least 10 times before getting things to work. So, I figured I'd spread the word.

1) During the install there are two screens in the packages area that say "Cydia" installer. Choose the one where it specifically says "Cydia Installer". If you choose the screen where it shows it in the list with all of the packages, your installer will die. 2) No luck with just doing a Restore / DFU without using the Pwnage tool. So far, it seems every time it fails you need to run through the entire builder process to get things to work with iTunes. 3) Don't choose ANY packages. Only the Cydia installer that is typically already preselected. You can install these later once a clean JB is good.

Just completed the jailbreak. Also unable to open Cydia. The only app I requested was "Install Cydia". Was I supposed to load something else? When you went to redsn0w, did you restore to standard 4.3.3 first or go directly to redsn0w?

If you have an older baseband, there is a conflict with it and Apple's upgraded baseband. It's purely cosmetic....if you want to know what your reception is, download and run ultrasnow and this should take care of it. Make sure though that your VVM works by playing your greeting...sometimes there is a glitch and it won't work (just reboot your phone and that should take care of it). Also, beware...ultrasnow is running in the background and will drain your battery faster.

Hello! I run version 4.1 with baseband version 02.10.04. I saved with TinyUmbrella my SHSH. I tried to jailbreak using pwnage tool (mac) 4.3.3 but it didn't work. When I finish DFU mode with sucess and I try to restore Itunes with iPhone3,1_4.3.3_8J2_Custom_Restore.ipsw there is massage in Itunes This device isn't eligible for the requested build. Please some one can help me?

comment the line which has gs.apple.com in my hosts file (/etc/hosts) That will resolve your problem.

I didn't have any problem with Cydia after this upgrade with Pwnage Tool. It was just a btch to get it restored with the custom firmware. I ran from 4.3.2 to 4.3.3 on BB 03.10.01 iPhone 4, and you folks?

Hey. I just bought an iphone 4 and still running the stock 4.3. Have not yet upgraded through itunes. Was wondering if this jailbreak is efficient to do or not ?
