Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z TriFold With Massive 10-Inch Display [Video]

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, a new flagship device that folds twice to create a 10-inch display — the largest screen Samsung has ever put on a phone. The design aims to give users a pocketable smartphone that can expand into a workspace big enough for real multitasking, content creation, and media viewing.

To pull off the multi-folding structure, Samsung developed a dual-rail Armor FlexHinge that uses two differently sized hinges working together. The three panels fold inward to protect the main screen, and the whole device still manages to stay remarkably thin at just 3.9mm at its slimmest point. The exterior uses a titanium hinge housing, an Armor Aluminum frame, and a reinforced polymer back panel to improve durability without adding bulk.



Inside, the TriFold runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform and includes a 5,600 mAh three-cell battery spread across the three panels for balanced weight and power delivery. It supports 45W fast charging and features a 200MP main camera.


The 10-inch display uses Samsung's latest foldable panel tech with a reinforced overcoat to boost durability across the dual-folding layout. Brightness reaches up to 1600 nits. Software has been reworked to take advantage of the extra space, allowing three portrait-style apps to run side-by-side. Samsung DeX also makes an appearance in a standalone mode, letting users access a desktop-like interface directly on the device — no external monitor required.



Samsung is positioning the TriFold as a device built for productivity during the AI era. The screen behaves like three 6.5-inch displays operating together, and users can resize windows, jump between apps using the taskbar, or rotate the device vertically when reading documents. DeX extends these abilities even further, supporting up to four workspaces that can each run multiple apps simultaneously.

This debut also arrives as pressure grows in the foldable market. Apple is reportedly developing a crease-free display for its first foldable iPhone, expected in 2026, with Samsung Display believed to be the primary supplier. Apple's larger foldable iPad project has reportedly hit delays, pushing it closer to 2029.


The Galaxy Z TriFold goes on sale in South Korea on December 12, 2025, with launches in the U.S. and other regions to follow.
