What's the point in releasing a cake half baked? November 4th is not that far... and a lot of testing has to be done just to make sure Apple stock apps will work as intended after the unlock. Let alone non-Apple stock apps. Anyone using this unlock should expect conflicts with existing apps. It's just not feasible to test all available apps.

my iPhone 3gs is jailbroken by Pwnage tool 3.1.4 ... will i be able to install blacksn0w and unlock the phone via Cydia? or the phone must be jailbroken by blackra1n first? please somebody let me know ... thx

CAN SOMEONE ANSWER THIS QUESTION? RIGHT NOT I HAVE 3.1 BUT WITH GEO'S NEW UNLOCK DO U THINK I SHOULD DOWNLOAD FROM ITUNE THE NEWER FIRMWARE 3.1.2 TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE FIXES AND WILL GEO'S UNLOCK STILL WORK. SEEING THAT HE SAYS IT WILL WORK ON ALL FIRMWARE MAYBE I SHOULD TAKE ADVANTAGE OF 3.1.2 Please someone respond to this question

You have to wait for this unlock =] It's only 4 more days. I'm with T-mobile too on a 3Gs that's already running 3.1.2 and I believe this will be the first unlock for it if you have the updated modem firmware. I did get mine jailbroken with Blackrain though. =]

Step 1: Jailbreak with blackra1n. Step 2: Restore with a PwnageTool 3.1.2 custom ipsw. Step 3: Enjoy your iPhone. PwnageTool includes hacktivation support, and once an iPhone is jailbroken, it will take the custom IPSW no problem. However, you either need a Mac or a friend with one to make said firmware file.

All but the newest 3GS phones are tether-free already. If you have a one new from the last month or so, you're out of luck.
