Apple released version 3.8 of its Sports app today, adding real-time tracking for the Men's and Women's NCAA tournaments and expanding support for fans in new regions.
The update introduces visual brackets for both tournaments, showcasing matchups and round-by-round results at a glance so users can follow every game in one place.
Fans in Latin America and the Caribbean can now follow their favorite leagues and teams in Apple Sports. Alongside the rollout, soccer coverage has been expanded to include Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Categoría Primera A, Liga de Primera, Liga Pro, Liga Profesional de Fútbol, and Primera División del Perú.
Apple has also added a new dedicated soccer category to the app, grouping leagues and cups into a single section to make them easier to find and follow.
The release builds on recent additions to the platform. Earlier this year, Apple added live golf tracking for the PGA and LPGA tours, along with several European football competitions. The app also continues to leverage Live Activities to deliver real-time updates to the Lock Screen, a feature Apple previously enhanced with dynamic drive charts for football.
Apple Sports is free to use and is available for all iPhone models running iOS 17.2 or later. Features require an internet connection over Wi-Fi or cellular.
