Apple has opened its latest round of software testing to the public, releasing the first public betas for iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, macOS Tahoe 26.6, watchOS 26.6, and tvOS 26.6.
The rollout arrives two days after the company provided the same builds to its developer channel. As Apple nears the end of the current software cycle, active feature development has largely wound down in favor of under-the-hood refinements, security patches, and overall system stability.
There is at least one minor functional change included in this release. The iOS 26.6 beta introduces a new system alert that triggers if a user hits the maximum capacity for blocked contacts. The prompt advises users to remove existing blocked numbers in Settings before adding new ones. Because the limit spans into the thousands, the vast majority of iPhone owners will likely never encounter the warning.
No other major additions have surfaced in these updates. Apple is actively focusing its engineering resources on the next generation of operating systems, including iOS 27 and macOS 27, which will be unveiled at WWDC26 on June 8.
Users enrolled in the Apple Beta Software Program can download the new builds over the air by navigating to the Software Update menu within the Settings app on their respective devices and choosing the public beta from the Beta Updates row.
