Apple TV's 'The Morning Show' to End With Fifth and Final Season in 2027

Apple has confirmed that The Morning Show will conclude with a fifth season in 2027, bringing one of the service's longest-running original dramas to an end. The Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon-led series debuted alongside the streaming platform in 2019, while its fourth season is currently streaming.



The announcement comes about a year after Apple renewed the series. Aniston said knowing in advance that the fifth season would be the last allowed the creative team to "craft the conclusion with intentionality and honor these characters the way they deserve." Witherspoon called her nearly decade-long run producing and starring in the show "the honor of a lifetime."


Returning cast members include Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie and Jon Hamm. Jeff Daniels, Reneé Rapp, Jesse Williams, Sean Hayes and Lizzy Caplan will also appear. Charlotte Stoudt returns as showrunner, with Mimi Leder directing and executive producing.

Now streaming, season four is set in spring 2024, nearly two years after the events of season three. It follows the merged UBA-NBN newsroom as it grapples with deepfakes, conspiracy theories and corporate cover-ups in a polarized America. Apple offered a first look at the season in its official trailer last year.

Apple executives Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht said the series played a key role in launching the company's streaming service and thanked the cast and creative team as production moves toward its conclusion.

Apple did not announce a more specific release date beyond a 2027 premiere window.
