Beats 360 Headphones Debut With Swappable Cushions, IPX4 Rating for $349.99 [Video]

Beats has introduced Beats 360, a new flagship pair of over-ear headphones with interchangeable ear and headband cushions, upgraded noise cancellation, IPX4 sweat and water resistance, and deeper integration with Apple and Android devices.

The headphones are available to order today for $349.99 in more than 100 countries and regions. Apple Store and retail availability begins September 24 in Black, Cloud, Pink, and Sky. The official price is $50 above the $299 figure that appeared in leaked retail listings last month.

Sound and Noise Cancellation

A new acoustic platform uses custom drivers with three-layer diaphragms and two neodymium magnets in each driver. Beats says the design lowers distortion while improving bass, detail, and precision across the frequency range.

The company's latest adaptive Active Noise Cancellation system is rated for up to 1.75 times more combined active and passive noise cancellation than Beats Studio Pro under the cited IEC test. Transparency mode remains available, while Adaptive EQ continuously adjusts frequencies based on the fit of the headphones.

Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking uses an accelerometer and gyroscope in the left earcup to follow head movement. Dolby Atmos is also supported with compatible content.

Interchangeable Cushions and IPX4 Resistance

Each pair ships with color-matched Performance Knit ear and headband cushions made from memory foam wrapped in breathable fabric. Additional Performance Knit kits are offered in Black, Cloud, Pink, Sky, Navy, and Volt, while UltraPlush kits use engineered leather and come in Black or Cloud.

Both the ear cushions and headband cushion can be removed, allowing owners to change colors or switch materials. Beats 360 is also the company's first over-ear model with an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance during non-water sports and exercise.

Cushion Kits include both earcup and headband pieces. They are available for an introductory price of $9.99 through October 31 in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Australia, South Korea, and China, while supplies last. Standard pricing is $49.99.

Connectivity, Calls, and Battery Life

A custom Beats chip and Class 1 Bluetooth 5.3 provide integration across Apple and Android. Apple features include one-touch pairing, always-on Hey Siri, Automatic Switching, Audio Sharing, FaceTime with Spatial Audio, and Find My network support. Android users get Fast Pair, Audio Switch, Find Hub, and support through the Beats app.

Nine digital MEMS microphones handle noise cancellation and voice pickup, with two shared between those functions. A beam-forming voice microphone works with the feed-forward microphones to focus on the speaker and reduce surrounding noise during calls.

Battery life reaches up to 32 hours with ANC and Personalized Spatial Audio enabled, or 24 hours in Transparency mode. A five-minute Fast Fuel charge provides up to one hour of playback over USB-C.

The headphones fold flat and include a woven ripstop carrying case. Beats says multiple components use 80 percent recycled plastic, while all magnets use 100 percent recycled rare earth elements. Coinciding with the launch, Beats Studio Pro has received a new price of $299.99.
