Halide 3.2 Adds Continuous Aperture Control on iPhone 18 Pro

Halide 3.2 is out with finer control over the variable aperture on the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Lux Optics says the app lets you choose any value between f/1.48 and f/4, while Apple's Camera app limits you to f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8 and f/4.

On the 48MP Fusion Main camera, the new Aperture Priority mode holds your chosen f-number while Halide adjusts shutter speed and ISO. You can also set all three manually. Apple's Camera app has manual aperture and shutter controls, but not ISO.

The update also brings two Looks that aren't tied to the new phones. Dawn gives photos warmer highlights and softer shadows. QuickSilver pares back color and boosts contrast for a look inspired by silver-retention processing. Both work on every device Halide supports and join the Looks introduced with Mark III.

Halide Mark III is available on the App Store with a seven-day trial. In the U.S., it costs $19.99 a year or $69.99 as a one-time purchase.
