Nathan Shedroff & Chris Noessel presented findings from their forthcoming book 'Make It So - Learning from SciFi Interfaces' at MacWorld Expo.
CultofMac reports that Noessel, an interaction designer and Shedroff, program chair of the MBA in Design Strategy at the California College of the arts, believe that Steve Jobs may have used the 2004 Pixar movie "The Incredibles" to test whether audiences would accept the idea of a tablet computer.
Taking a look at the screen captures below the tablet does look a lot like an iPad with a big Home button.

i think that it's true, because right after the movie came out online forums exploded with posts like "did you see that awesome handheld computer in the incredibles?! i hope someone designs something like that someday because i'll for sure buy it!"
once again, ispeculate.com pulls through.
