AT&T has officially started mapping their 4G HSPA+ coverage on their website. Currently, the list is limited because it only includes the full cities which have undergone the backhaul upgrade. AT&T has deployed HSPA+ to 100% of the network, but if the site you are connected to does not have "enhanced backhaul" you will not be able to take advantage of 4G speeds.
The areas include ●Bay Area, CA ●Los Angeles, CA ●NorCal, CA ●Houston, TX ●Dallas, TX ●Chicago, IL ●Baltimore, MD ●Buffalo, NY ●Boston, MA ●Providence, RI ●Charlotte, NC ●Puerto Rico
To view the coverage for yourself visit www.att.com/network. Hit the coverage tab, then hover over the map until the cities with 4G coverage appear.

The reason why people say AT&T's service sucks is beacause AT&T has the most iPhones subscribed to their network, thus causing it to lag and "suck". Just think how better it would be if AT&T had as many pple with iPhones as in Verizon. Sure Verizon has better speeds, but they don't have as many iPhones as AT&T has. Also another reason is because AT&T let's u talk while surfing the web.
Still, why do they say that they are launching 4G when It's NOT , they are only enhancing their 3G network ?
If I lived in the US , I wouldn't go for an operator that lies.
I will have ask their customer support.
In Boston? Ok I'll bite which McDonalds?
Coverage in Boston.especially around venues like the Garden and Fenway is weak at best.
Lately, it seems the speed of 3G registers fst on the speed tests but connecting to anything is mediocre, nothing too impressive.
Why do they call it 4g when it's only enhanced 3g ?
Here in Sweden we already have some real 4g LTE networks.
I my avarage speed (indoor) is around 50 down and 35 up.....but sometimes you get some really nice speeds like 95 down...;)
But the modem gets quite hot .....
Yeah I think AT&T should stop fooling their customers like they do.. Making a "breaking news" about getting something for the users other countries' had for years.. They can't even get their present 3G network to function properly..
It's not just AT&T. T-mobile USA is doing the same exact thing. When all they're doing is an enhanced version of 3g. But you're right i don't agree with these tactics. I'm with AT&T and haven't had a problem with their service yet. But I think that by our (USA) doing this makes us look like jack asses to the rest of the world where true LTE can be found.
HSPA+ it's available in Portugal almost 5 years, and it is not 4G, we call it 3,5G. Telecom companies are to deceive the customers with wrong ad's information in the US. 4G networks will come to Portugal in 2011 with 150 MB/s (LTE). We already have optical fiber with 1GB/s.
