Apple Releases tvOS 27.2 With FaceTime Links and New Screen Saver Controls

Apple has released tvOS 27.2 for Apple TV 4K, bringing changes to FaceTime, screen savers, and Siri Remote location features.

The public update carries build number 24K122, following the release candidate seeded on October 19. It also includes bug fixes and security updates.

FaceTime links make it easier to join calls directly from Apple TV, and support for third-party sign language interpreters and captioning services adds more accessibility options during calls.

Screen saver personalization lets users choose specific photos from an iPhone without sharing their full photo library with the set-top box. A shuffle option cycles through different screen saver categories.

Find My support also allows users to locate a second-generation or later Siri Remote with their iPhone.

Alongside the update, Apple has released tvOS 26.6.1, build 23L781. That version adds support for the fourth-generation Siri Remote on Apple TV HD and the first-generation Apple TV 4K.

To install the software, open Settings > System > Software Updates on Apple TV and select Update Software. Devices with automatic updates enabled can install it automatically.
