Apple has reportedly hired Nintendo UK's Head of PR and Activision's European PR Director, according to MCV.

Early yesterday MCV broke news of Robert Saunders departure to Apple.

Nintendo UK's head of PR, Robert Saunders, will shortly re-emerge in a newly created role at Apple. There is no confirmation from Apple or Saunders himself as yet, but MCV understands that he will be focused on PR for apps across the iPad, iPod and iPhone ranges.

Later in the day, MCV found out about the departure of another PR rep, Nick Grange, to Apple.

Apple has poached not one but two of the games industry’s best PR execs – with Activision’s Nick Grange set to join Nintendo’s Rob Saunders at the manufacturer. As with Saunders, Grange’s appointment is yet to be officially confirmed, but MCV understands that he will be joining the company in a role focussed on iPad hardware.

While not yet confirmed, these hirings indicate that Apple realizes how important gaming is to their iOS platform.
