Apple is reportedly cracking down on developers who are selling access to the iOS 5 beta, says Karthikk.net.
Many of my developer friends have reported that Apple has sent an email warning which said that they have identified the developer to be selling his slots for some users to get early preview of iOS.
The developers accounts were closed for selling the slots and the UDIDs associated with that dev account were flagged.
While this may be the case, its likely that many user reports are actually based on the expiration of iOS 5.0 beta 2 that occurred yesterday. Those who did not update to iOS 5.0 beta 3 or higher had their device activation canceled.

I'd love to have a developer membership thingy or whatever it's called to get all of that cool stuff, but I can't afford it. Guess I'll have to wait till fall to iOS 5.

We all knew it was going to happen. The question wasn't "if" it'll happen, more like "when" will it happen. Enjoy.

Stop hating... Much of the whining by non developers would never be found by regular Devs who don't real world test against every possible app or usage.
