Amazon is again targeting Apple with its latest Kindle ad which emphasizes its lower price compared to the iPad.

Kindle and Kindle Fire are perfect for any getaway. The new Kindle is $79 and is the best way to read in bright sunlight. The Kindle Fire is $199 and offers instant access to the web, movies, apps, games, reading and more.

Note the kindle fire was being used in the shade..

Not a good compare. They were visually comparing the glare and readability, but they were comparing the iPad to the digital ink kindle while the kindle fires were in the shade. The iPad and kindle fire have same screen tech so they have both same downfalls in sunlight. Just can't compare with a digital ink device.
